hello everyone
im new here and im very emabrrassed and its disgusting as well but maybe someone could offer some advice…

so….
im having alot of vaginal discharge- get theres different amounts for different stages of the cycle but i always feel ‘wet’ and its feel heavy.
i have to wear a liner alot of the time that is unless im on my period.
ive had tests for everything and theres no infection that would cause it and theres no other reason for it
theres soo much there and its really disgusting

any help is appreciated

Happy to help. You didn’t say exactly what you have been tested for. It might help if you haven’t already to go to a specific Sexual Health Clinic. To find one look under “Where can I get tested?” on the Playsafe Website. That being said the amount of vaginal discharge can vary a lot from woman to woman. It can be a very normal thing. One thing I usually recommend for women who find their amount of discharge to be of concern is to start avoiding any soaps of any kind. This can help to avoid the vagina becoming too alkaline which can sometimes contribute. Using just warm water to wash the genitals is all you need.

ive been tested for STDs and BV and all the rest that can be tested via pap smears and swaps and also bloods as well. not sure what else but you would probably know. but so fa everythings come back clear except the hpv. i got tested via my gp clinic where a sexual health nurse is there.
i dont use soaps in that area as ive been told not to so its just warm water

theres always alot of discharge to the point where i have to wear liners otherwise im soaked

@unknown it’s great to hear that you got checked for STIs & that you’re washing with warm water :). The vagina in fact is self cleaning & that’s why a discharge occurs. It’s really common for women to experience changes over time. A next step which may help is to visit a womens’ health nurse or a Family Planning clinic. They specialize in womens’ health & may assess the amount of discharge & check if there’s any other causes triggering it.

I went to a womens health nurse and shes the one who did the pap smear and std tests

I questioned her about the discharge and she said its ‘probably’ just normal

At first we thought it was that condition where it does produce too much discharge and causes wetness
Cant think of the name at this minute though

@unknown, as you’ve noticed an vaginal discharge & odour book an appointment with a doctor at a Family Planning Clinic. Bacterial Vaginosis is a condition that sounds similar however you said that test was negative. A doctor may investigate this further or consider treatment to assess if it improves.

ok thank you i see my gp to get blood work back tomorrow so ill ask her about it then as well- she might end up referring me to a gynacologist-
would that be better as they specialise in that area?

@unknown, that’s a good idea to talk to your GP about it. Your doctor will advise who is best to refer you to.

@Nurse_Nettie i went to my gp and she said even the amount im having sounds normal
i dont think its normal and theres a smell but no infection
shes told me to try vagisil..? wash to see if its a ph imbalance
i dont even know what that is really nor do i know the casue of it

Hi @unknown Vagasil wash is just a brand of wash specifically designed for down there (something I’ve been recommended before).

You can find it at any pharmacy, or you can find similar products in a different brand in supermarkets (usually in the same section as pads and tampons). It comes in many formulations, so read the bottles and pick which works for you.
